New owner, Have a few maintenance questions.
Hello, I just bought a 2001 Buell Blast with 13k on the clock. For now, its been running mostly perfect and there are only a few issues.
My first issue that I want to address is that after riding around a bit, there is a bit of smoke coming from the air box cover and it smells like unburnt fuel. Also, and it wasnt until just recently (I have put on about 100 miles since I bought it), I started it up and it died twice while I tried to drive as if it was starving for fuel possibly. I had planned on replacing the carb just to be safe or should I do a rebuild? Need advice.
Also, the bike, before today, idled a bit high when first staring up and even did so after it was warmed up. When shifting into first or up into second, it grinds a bit and sometimes slips out of gear if I didn't push up hard enough. Once in gear it pulls hard and doesn't have an issue. So I am wondering if I should replace the trans? Again, I need advice.
For now, these are my main concerns but I am sure I will have questions later. Please let me know if you have any advice or need more info.
