I recently purchased a 2001 X1 Lightning. I got an awesome deal, as it had been barely ridden by the previous owner. This is the fist Buell Ive ever owned and am looking for alittle advice. The exhaust that is currently on it is all stock. I would like to replace the exhaust with something that sounds alot better. Iam looking for a more of a "beefy" sound to it, rather than it sounding like a moped. If some one could be kind and throw some ideas at me that would be great..thanks

I use the V&H slip on and think it sounds great. But there are quite a few options out there, you should be able to find something you like.

I have a 2000 x1, I installed a buell race kit. It added awesome sound and substantial power.

My friend has X1 and he uses Vance & Hines SS2-R Slip-On Exhaust and it seems working great till now..It sounds great and gives better power in mid-range....

I will suggest you to go for the Akrapovic exhaust, its most popular brand and they are manufacturing best quality products and its sound is great, it will gives you better performance, you will get many choices to choose the exhaust as you want.
