: 1125R Or CR Which would you choose?
wil2deal 09-27-2008, 09:31 PM This is John from Biker Bob's Buell and HD in Michigan. Taking a survey of which is the most popular The R or CR!! Here are some pictures to help you decide. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc319/2whlh3vn/IMG_0519.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc319/2whlh3vn/IMG_0522.jpg
BRAG918 10-15-2008, 06:50 PM I've ridden the R and loved it, however, my back didn't. Can't wait to try the CR, the riding position would be more suited to my body. Can't wait to try the throttle response on the lower gear ratio either!!
wil2deal 10-16-2008, 05:58 AM Just for the record. In stock form the CR sits more aggressively than the R, but the CR can have handle bars installed that sit you up like an XB9SX. I have seen it done by one of our customers but I didn't get the pictures.
BRAG918 10-17-2008, 05:36 AM Ok, sat on them both last night, side by side. They feel pretty much the same, the bars look to be about in the same position. From my experience at the track, the way the R felt was much better because of the wind flow around it. Can't give the evaluation about the CR, but that was the comparison against the Lightnings.
wil2deal 10-18-2008, 05:47 AM So you sat on both and the R sat better. Now how would you feel if the CR had the handle bar kit installed on it which is very close to the seating position on the XB12SS. You could still use it for track days or daily rides... just lean over the bars more.
Black Snowman 05-08-2009, 05:03 PM If I had waited until 09 to get mine as was "Plan A" I would have probably opted for the CR with the bar kit since I've gone ahead and bought a dedicated track bike so I don't have to worry about scuffing up Armitage.
SoCalBuellRiders 06-12-2009, 06:18 PM It's the R for me.
At speed, I appreciate the fairing.
And I don't think I'd enjoy the added weight on my wrists from the CR's lower grips. Yes, there is a kit to raise them, but I'm talking about them as they are.
CBP7884D 06-21-2009, 08:51 PM I went down to Biker Bob's about 1 month ago looking at a xb12ss. I took it for a test ride and it was only running on 1 cylinder so I took out an 1125r. That engine changed my mind on which bike i wanted.
I like the styling of the 1125CR over the 1125R, so I'm coming back in soon to take the 1125CR out. As long as I'm comfortable with the riding position, on it I'll be taking it home.
vosnick52 10-26-2009, 07:32 PM I just bought a CR and I have the tall bar kit on the way. I will post up when I get it finished.
illbuell 01-22-2010, 12:35 AM CR looks way better....waaaaaaaayyyyyy better.. of course opinions are like arse holes everyones got one...
I liked the aggressive/pissed-off gorilla look of the CR myself.
Randy Bowers 03-23-2010, 12:13 AM I've got the R, and will pick it up again tomorrow AGAIN.... I've had the 4 recalls done including new throttle bodies, and it still felt sluggish so i took it back in and they found that the wiring harness was keeping the throttle from opening up. the dealer has been realy good about it and I would still pick on the R, I've got the fairing lowers on mine and I think it looks much better. sorry for the looong post.
jamewatson 06-10-2011, 05:56 AM I will go for the 1125R, because it is a nice looking compare to CR, it is really very aggressive, its front look is really very nice and it is suitable for me, I think it is the best bike.
