Has anyone tried to run their Uly without the small heat deflectors in place. To beat the heat?

Without the deflectors won't beat the heat, I was going to try them to help beat it.
I saw in one magazine where they actualy used aluminum tape to close off the area between the frame and the rear cylinder head, so that more eat goes out the fan/deflectors and not up into the seat. My screw up the warranty, I think. I was going to try some kind of shield mounted to the seat itself, butt with the winter months ahead, the warm seat would be welcome.

Thanks for the reply Brag. I have seen some heat shields from Special OPS. that can cover the holes on the frame and tail section. But what I feel when riding the bike is the heat that has built up in the right side of the frame. Design Engineering Inc. Makes Reflect-A-Cool that can be placed on just about any surface. It has reflective material on one side and adhesive on the other. It takes up about the same space as two layers of duct tape. Place the on the inside of the frame near the right rear on the frame. I know that would mean that heat would be reflected back to the motor, but that's better than heating up the fuel in the frame right?

Has anyone tried the comfort kits?

I don't own one but I have been lurking around ever hopeful that a deal will fall in my lap. One thing that has limited my search is it's my impression the comfort kit only fits the '09 and '10 bikes. Is that right or can I expand my search to include the '08s of which there seem to be a few on the market?

Hi..Mine is a Buell Ulysses 2006/07 - The comfort Kit fits well. Couldn't do without it

Well, I'm picking up a new (to me) 2009 XT this weekend. Bike has the Comfort Kit with the download and I noticed the airbox was getting a little warm during my test ride. Not unpleasant but it was only low 80s outside in So Cal, not a real test. I'll post any updates here as I get into summer but I'm really hoping it won't be any big deal.
