This may be a bit like how longs a peice of string......but any experts out there on the 09 Thunderstorm and what can be done to give this engine more torque and power? what works? and whats a waste of time..... I've fitted a drummer muffler, but would really like some opinions and idea's about where to go next? KN filter fitted as well, is there a lot of potential with this engine?

From what I've read, you'll need to have the ecm remapped to take full advantage of the drummer and the air filter. A trip to the dyno is in order. I had it done on my vrod, with a filter change and basically stock exhaust, the results were amazing. The '09's have a closed loop system, so I don't know how well or how much can be done, Also, don't know what your emission restrictions are?

Thats good to hear, although I have been breifed about the ecm, there are people working on it.............it seems strange to restrict the bike in this way? the drummer has made a bit of a difference, the sound is fantastic, and the bike seems to climb to the rev limiter quicker. I was particularly interested in future engine mods, incease in CC's? ported heads? camshaft changes? whats good and gives you most bang for bucks......? so the remap made a big difference? I had heard that the combination of K&N and a good muffler made a big difference.

Big difference? It's like I'm riding a different bike. I was a little disappointed when I saw the figures, but as they said on the vrod forum, the numbers mean nothing till you ride it! I'm putting together a list of mods that I'd like to do to the Uly, then give it to Tony to do his magic.
