I'm looking at getting a Blast because it seems easy to ride and requires very little maintenance compared to suzuki 500 i was looking at. I have ridden a barrage of different bikes and prefer the thumpers because no one expects them to get up and go.

blasts are super easy to ride... i wish i could tell you more but it's the only street bike I've owned. is there anything more specific you want to know ?

Well I have never ridden the Suzuki 500e so take my comment with a grain of salt.

First, you asked about aftermarket modifications. I've seen some pretty good pictures of some modded Blasts but I do not find these items readily. With that said, I've never looked into the Suzuki stuff.

The Blast has a pretty good low end. If you plan on zipping off lines you will find yourself frantically up-shifting to maximize this low end. Of course the transmission on the blast is not meant for this kind of abuse so you may find the transmission grinding a lot.

The Blast is not a sport bike but provides great acceleration and a great ride. Watch for Harley to have one of its open rides. See if you can't get a lap around on one of them.
