Any news since Erik Buell Racing's launch?

I was looking at a Uly for sale this week and talking to the dad of the owner. He said his son had heard Buell might be making a comeback with financing provided by HD Moco but distribution through non-HD dealerships.

I thought it sounded like wishful thinking but, then again, it could make sense. I think HD took a lot of flak from the very sport oriented crowd it was hoping to broaden its appeal to. Anyway, nothing posted on this web site but maybe someone else has heard something?

p.s. (I bought the bike. )

Thumbs down if

if HDs ran as bad as my 08 uly at low rpm HD would be out of business 2. I should'nt have to buy a $250 ecm or $ 750 worth of software to make my bike run correctly??????????

Well, that wasn't the direction I was going with my post but I'm glad someone at least responded. Sorry to hear about your troubles. My '09 Uly XT has almost 14K mi and I haven't had any of the problems you describe. I would say, if you had to spend all that $$$
just to run properly (not taking about trying to tweak the performance), you might have an issue with HD. I think they are required to support the product for ten years after deciding to close the company. Remember, this isn't a case of Buell going BK, this was a straightforward decision to terminate a segment of HD's business and the customers for that segment have to have access to service and parts. They may struggle finding those parts but that's their problem and they have to provide them. Were you unable to replace a stock ECM or get updated downloads?

mis direction

I apologize for going the wrong direction with my reply is was the first spot I got too. From what I have read from other buellers my problem is not uniqe and the bike didnt run like this when I test rode it. runs great at highway speed, low rpm low speed bucking and jerking sucks, popping and backfiring after being off for awhile until warmed up. screw fuel injection electronics suck did fine without it for many many years
