Question Reliability?

I purchased a 2008 and a 2009 ullysses in rapid succession and started riding them with my girl pretty seriously right away. Four months and 14000 miles later I find I have no choice but to sell them. I have replaced both clutches, one exhaust header, a header stud, thee exhaust clamps, two weel bearings, two transmition belts, both mufflers rusted externaly and had trouble with the 2009's fuel injection. These mechanical failures amounted to being stranded by the highway six times, often in very remote areas with no cell- fone coverage (I live in South America). The only dealer in the country finaly made up excuses and no longer honours they'r warranty. I was wondering whether any other owners have begun to doubt Buell's reliability and quality of manufacure? I love the bikes, I am looking at the Moto Guzzy Stelvio, the BMW R1200GS and even the Ducati Hipermotard, and I see why I bought the Buells, theyr concept design is superior. If they coud just go for more than 2000 miles without a serious mechanical problem they would be allround superior. Opinions?

Cool

Hi George..I'm Curious. Do you still have your Buell?
I'm rather new with the Ulysses, but on other lists, and this is not what we see. All these problems...
Where are you from? Do you have a trustfull dealer mechanic??

Unhappy Reliability?

I buyed my first 2006 Buell Ulysses brand new in 2007. After 9 000 km I had to replace the muffler with a Jardine muffler.
The stock muffler was rusty and not good-looking.
After 19 000 km I had to replace the wheelbearings and front disc.

Now I have problems with the electric system, and it stops me riding the bike when I want..
When I turn the ignition key on: High beam bulb glows. No action sounds from the injection system.
When I push the starter button: High beam bulb got weaker glow.
Sometimes when I turn the ignition switch on, I get all 3 startup lights on, also startup sounds from the injection system, but when i push the start button I only get clickings from the starter. The starter does not turn the engine and sounds like the battery is weak. I have a brand new battery (stock), checked all connections, and still no start
Any suggestions?
