Quick question

I have a 07 xb12ss that I got a few months ago. I haven't been able to ride it except for a quick run around the block due to some licensing issue. but my question is that it has a slip on Jardine( i think its just a slip on) and i'm not sure if the previous owner had it tuned or mod'd for that exhaust. would it hurt the bike to ride it with out messing with the ecm or due any other tuning. how do i tell if it is running lean or anything else that could affect it.
thanks for the help!

Slip on Jardine

I would not drive it until I could map it and log it. You could always put the stock exhaust back on and not have to deal with that but you should just contact mike at Xoptiinside. He is still working with these ECM's and can set you up for a reasonable price.
Another alternative is to buy an EBR race ecm but you will have to take the bike to a Harley shop to have the tps reset.

got a photo of the exhaust, piping, and headers?

I'm going to assume that its likely just as slip on. But that doesnt mean you have stock headers.

Did he give you the stock exhaust along with the bike? If it was up to me I would install the stock exhaust until the system can be mapped properly for the aftermarket exhaust. last thing you want to do is mess up your bike.

why not just ride it with the Jardine? Its a slip on no worries...

to check if its running lean, pull the plugs, caramel colour is good, black is too rich, white is too lean. You can also get a feel from throttle response...

that is what he could also do.
but if not it's always safe to just go with the stock exhaust in the mean time.

yea but then you posted Jardines catalog and they don't make a full exhaust for the xb12ss...

It wont mess with the ECU, it might affect performance or fuel economy but nothing detrimental... Most ECUs are smart enough to learn anyways.
