New Blast owner with oil question

So, I'm a new Blast owner and finally have an excuse to join a motorcycle forum! So, I'm looking forward to this...

Here's my issue though, and I know this is somewhat over questioned, but:

I get the whole warm up the bike to check the oil, but I put 6 cups of Shell Rotella Synthetic oil in the Blast and changed the oil filter to a mobil 1. I drove the bike for about 10 mins in ~50 degree weather. I idled the bike (upright) for about a minute. I turned off the bike and pulled the dipstick and it was bone dry. To my knowledge the bike takes 1.5 quartz, or 6 cups of oil. I'm afraid to run in in the event there is potentially no oil in it. Am I going crazy? Bone dry just scares me. Maybe that's normal? It's a 2001 Buell Blast. I even checked shortly after the initial check, like 5-10 mins later.

The blast seems to use a lot of oil but that is no problem. Just check it periodically. The manual says it holds 2 quarts and I believe that is so. It takes a lot to fill it to the proper dipstick level.
