Some Issues

Hi there i have a 03 buell blast p3..i recently went through a slough of problems with this bike but after all of it i am finally down to my last problem. the belt tension bolt was entirely undone leave the pad to free float in the case.. this has resulted in the bike having no power or torque... the only solution i can think of is to remove the crankcase and re attach the bolt.... if this is so please let me know. if there is another way to fix it im not sure.... i need tips and tricks about taking apart the case. what do i have to do? what order? what will need to be replaced? that sort of stuff. any tips will be greatly appreciated.

It looks like this forum is pretty dead. There seems to be very little activity both here and on I am wondering if Buells have been rendered unridable due to a lack of parts and people willing to work on them. It would be a shame to consign them to static display status.

As to your problem, I won't be much help. I have just purchased my first Buell and I have never owned a Harley so this is all new territory to me. I have worked on and rebuilt many motorcycles. The first rule of any mechanical endeavor is "remember how it came apart." A bike can be stripped to it frame and re built if you know how it came apart. Used freezer bags for bolts and to store assemblies, label them and take pictures as you go. You will be fine.

Only replying because of the comment about the forum losing steam. I still have the Buell Blast I purchsed new from the HD dealership in 2000, but it sits in my son's garage waiting for attention to many minor but varied issues. 18 years, one owner bike, it was reliable and fun for most of that time but lack of reliable repair shops is a major issue. My son can fix anything but his time is a premium so i don't expect to be reunited with my bike any time soon, but i still love it. This forum came in handy many times over the years but it is losing steam, much as i hate to see it go. Sometimes it helped to just scroll through to see trending issues. Good luck, enjoy your Buell.
